HOMMA and IRIS OHYAMA Form Business Alliance |Joint Development of Smart Lighting System for the U.S. Housing Market

HOMMA Group, based in Silicon Valley, California, U.S.A., and aiming to realize the next generation of smart homes through a unique approach that combines original architectural design with self-developed smart home technology, has agreed to a business alliance with Iris Ohyama, a major household goods manufacturer and wholesaler, The two companies have begun joint development of a smart lighting system.

Background of the Business Alliance

As Japan's top lighting equipment manufacturer, Iris Oyama not only offers a lineup of superior lighting equipment, but also its proprietary LiCONEX wireless lighting control technology. By integrating this product and technology with HOMMA's smart home platform Cornerstone AI™, the company's strength, the partnership was formed to achieve more stable operability and a higher level of smart home experience. By partnering with HOMMA, which is well versed in the U.S. housing market, we aim to speed up the introduction of Iris Oyama's lighting equipment to the U.S. market from the customer's perspective, not only improving the customer experience, but also streamlining the installation process at home construction sites and facilitating the setting up process. The system automatically manages a group of built-in smart home devices from the design stage to the selection and construction stage, creating a comfortable living space without hassles.

HOMMA's proprietary smartphone application enables centralized management and operation of lighting and other multiple smart home devices.

Future Development

The jointly developed smart lighting system is scheduled to be deployed in a series of HOMMA's residential development projects in the U.S., starting with HOMM HAUS Mount Tabor (project details below). The two companies will also consider introducing the system to the Japanese market in the future.
