
Basic Agreement on SDGs Promotion Signed
Through this agreement, the two parties will work together on the dissemination of the SDGs and support for initiatives in preparation for the 2025 Japan International Expo (hereinafter referred to as "Osaka-Kansai Expo"). Specific details are as follows
1. Support for SDG dissemination awareness-raising and initiatives for students and faculty at universities in Japan
2. Information exchange on Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai
3. Other matters deemed necessary
Kobe University is registered as a co-creation partner of TEAM EXPO 2025, an organizational participation program to build momentum for the Osaka-Kansai Expo, under the slogan "Co-Creation and Implementation of Future Society" and JCS is registered as a co-creation partner of TEAM EXPO 2025, a MICE project to expand the circle of communication to all people.

In February 2020, Kobe University established the Office of SDGs Promotion and launched initiatives to achieve the SDGs, which are designed to connect "knowledge" and "people" in academia to solve SDG issues by promoting innovation through cross-disciplinary co-creation and leveraging the power of people. The SDGs Promotion Office promotes innovation through co-creation in different fields and leveraging the power of people in order to link "knowledge" and "people" in academia to solve SDG issues.
In 2012, JCS became the first company in Japan to receive ISO 20121 (Event Sustainability) certification. JCS is committed to sustainable conventions*, enhancing event value, and contributing to society by taking into consideration "environmental," "social," and "economic" aspects.
Kobe University, which aims to solve social issues through cross-disciplinary co-creation, and JCS, which aims to solve social issues based on sustainable conventions, will co-create an industry-academia collaboration to pursue the value of sustainability and create new value and innovation for the Osaka-Kansai Expo by leveraging their strengths, knowledge and resources.
