JAXA x BIZ NEWS calls for participation in the workshop "Future Vision to Create a Space You Want to Live in"!

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), together with co-sponsoring companies and organizations, will hold a workshop on "Future Vision to Create a Space You Want to Live in" as part of the "THINK SPACE LIFE" business co-creation platform for lifestyle and healthcare fields!

Held a workshop on the future concept of space living!

The space environment still presents many challenges in terms of human habitation. This platform has been working with private companies and others to present the issues and needs related to the current space living that astronauts experience on a daily basis, and to create solutions to solve these issues.

In addition to the forecasting type activities to solve current issues, we will hold a workshop to envision "future space life (the world we are aiming for)" and to create a starting point for backcasting type innovations to be made now.

After this workshop, we plan to produce and disseminate a future concept, "Space Life Conception ver. 1.0," which will be a compilation of the concepts of all participants in this future concept initiative. The beta version of "Space Life Conception Beta", which is a draft of the future Space Life Conception ver. 1.0, is available today, and was developed by this platform and the companies participating in this platform.

For more information, please refer to the following linkhttps://aerospacebiz.jaxa.jp/solution/j-sparc/projects/think-space-life/conception/

In this workshop, we will envision future space life (the world we are aiming for) by envisioning the following three life situations.
 (1) Early 2030s: Low Earth Orbit: Japan Module
 (2) Late 2030s: Low Earth Orbit: Space Hotel
 (3) Late 2040s: Moon: Lunar base

We widely invite you to participate in this workshop to seek further diverse ideas and perspectives to concretely envision future space life. We look forward to your participation.

1:THINK SPACE LIFE
THINK SPACE LIFE" is a business co-creation platform with incubation functions and a community, which was launched by JAXA as part of the JAXA Space Innovation Partnership (J-SPARC) to promote commercialization activities, aiming to create new businesses and research and development to improve both space and ground life by addressing issues of space life. It is a business co-creation platform with incubation functions and a community. (Launched on July 7, 2020)

Planning and operation of the incubation function and provision of various incubation opportunities are promoted in collaboration with the incubation partners of the platform. By organically linking the platform with the ISS lifestyle products idea solicitation, existing joint research and demonstration frameworks, and various space business participation opportunities, we will support the development of the lifestyle and healthcare fields into new markets both in space and on the ground in the era of living in space.

The THINK SPACE LIFE Platform will focus on the following 3, 6, and 11 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) related to health and housing, and aims to contribute to them through collaboration with participating companies.https://aerospacebiz.jaxa.jp/solution/j-sparc/projects/think-space-life/
