Adopted a co-creation proposal by four companies to solve regional and social issues
Sotetsu Holdings, Inc. (headquartered in Nishi-ku, Yokohama; Hideyuki Takizawa, President) held a presentation meeting for a demonstration experiment under the "Sotetsu Accelerator Program 2022" (hereafter "the Program"), and has now adopted a joint creation proposal with four companies.
Through open innovation*1 with startup companies*2 through this program, we aim to build an innovation ecosystem that makes the most of the Sotetsu Group's wide range of businesses and management resources, especially along the Sotetsu Line.
Under the theme of "Creating a life that makes everyone smile, mobility, and a future beyond their imagination," this program has been calling for co-creation proposals since December 27, 2022. This time, out of 48 applications, we have adopted co-creation proposals with 4 start-up companies.
By utilizing the diverse and abundant management resources of the Sotetsu Group, which operates businesses in the Yokohama area, and by incorporating new ideas and technology as well as innovative approaches and know-how from startup companies, the program will work to solve management issues and expand into new business domains. The demonstration experiment under this program is scheduled to start in late April and last for approximately three months.
The Sotetsu Group is working to expand its business domain in accordance with the "Group Management Policy" of its "Vision 2030" long-term vision. Through this program, the Sotetsu Group will consider entering new business fields through collaboration between the Sotetsu Group and startup companies, with the aim of providing new value and services that will help solve regional and social issues.
1 Fast-growing companies that challenge existing markets by creating unprecedented business models with unique technologies and ideas.
2 A system for co-creating innovative businesses and services by not only relying on the company's own management resources and technologies, but also by collaborating with external parties.
