The Tokyo Metropolitan Government launched the "NEXs Tokyo" project to support startups that take on new challenges!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has launched a new type of startup support project called "NEXs Tokyo (ruby: NEXs Tokyo, collective name: Nexus Ecosystem Xs Tokyo), a new type of startup support business that provides a place and opportunities for the creation and development of new businesses through collaboration across industries and regions.

NEXs Tokyo will offer two types of communities: online and in base facilities.
As the first step, an "Online Salon" community will be opened on June 17, 2020, to expand the scope of online collaboration between startups and their support partners from all over Japan.

What is NEXs Tokyo?

This is the name of a community organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to create businesses that transcend industries, sectors, and regions by connecting startups from all over Japan that are taking on the challenge of expanding and accelerating their businesses domestically and internationally, and a wide variety of people, businesses, and organizations working to promote innovation.

Objectives of NEXs Tokyo

While mutually cooperating with existing startup communities throughout Japan, mainly startup support organizations, and with corporations and local governments as support partners, we will support not only startups in Tokyo, but also startups nationwide that are taking on new challenges for further growth, with the aim of creating a broad startup ecosystem that extends from Tokyo to all regions of Japan. The goal is to create a broad-based startup ecosystem that extends from Tokyo to all regions of Japan.

It will then serve as a community that creates businesses across industries, sectors, and regions, and as a HUB for existing startup communities that provides optimal support in response to startups' needs.

.

NEXs Tokyo Features

NEXs Tokyo will provide a place and opportunity for startups and partners to gather, connect, grow, and develop through two types of communities, online and in base facilities.

The "Online Salon," which will be opened ahead of the project, will serve as a catalyst for growth and development by bringing together and connecting a wide range of startups and partners, overcoming differences in the regions in which they operate.

The "Community Space," which will open in Marunouchi, Tokyo in the summer of 2020 or later, will play the role of accelerating growth and development by allowing startups and partners to meet face-to-face, learn about each other's enthusiasm and aspirations, and build a relationship of trust. Especially for startups and partners who are located far from each other, the "Online Salon" will allow them to first get to know each other and then meet face-to-face at the "Community Space" for more efficient use of the space.
