Mellow raises a total of 500 million yen from Toyota Financial Services and PKSHA SPARX Algorithm 1

Mellow, which develops the "TLUNCH" mobility business platform, has raised ¥500 million through a third-party allocation of new shares with Toyota Financial Service and SMBC Trust and Banking Corporation (Specified Money Trust PKSHA SPARX Algorithm #1)*1 as the underwriters. Going forward, the company will promote affluent urban development through store mobility*2 and further strengthen its system for developing safe and secure services.

2 Shop mobility: A mobile store. Including food trucks, mobile apparel stores, mobile massage parlors, etc.

Purpose and Background of Fundraising

Mellow has been delivering safe, secure, and affluent services to people through the use of store mobility. In the four years since its establishment, its total monthly distribution has exceeded 100 million yen, and the company has been promoting urban development utilizing store mobility. The company has decided to raise funds with both TFS and PKSHA based on their shared goal of "creating a new mobility business and updating future urban development.
Funds raised will be used to develop store mobility operation bases, strengthen the support system for practitioners, and expand the IT system infrastructure.

In conjunction with the financing, Mellow has invited Shinya Kodera (Senior Vice President of TFS / President of KINTO Corporation) and Katsuya Uenoyama (Representative Director of PKSHA) to join its Board of Directors, and will combine the platform infrastructure of Mellow's mobility business with the various strengths and expertise of TFS and PKSHA. The two companies will work together to further expand the store mobility market in anticipation of the coming era of MaaS and smart cities.

What is TLUNCH?

Mellow's "TLUNCH" project matches vacant building spaces with unique food trucks to create lunch spaces in the city where people can casually enjoy chefs' specialties. The company has developed a variety of business locations, mainly in office districts, but also in universities, hospitals, logistics warehouses, and construction sites, and currently operates in 190 locations in the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Kansai region, with nationwide expansion underway. In addition, with 790 affiliated food trucks, the company also operates food and beverage areas at music festivals and other events. In the future, the company will strengthen its support system for food truck operators, including support for business plans and concept development.
