Hino Motors to Host Commercial Vehicle Industry's First Accelerator Program "HINO ACCELERATOR 2021 - HINO DE SAFARI

Hino Motors, Ltd. announced today that it will hold "HINO ACCELERATOR 2021 - HINO DE SAFARI", a program to create new businesses through open innovation, from May 17, 2021. Through this program, Hino Motors will collaborate with companies that share the same aspiration to solve social issues in human flow and logistics, and will further accelerate its efforts to solve these issues.

This program is the first accelerator program in the commercial vehicle industry in Japan to co-create products by combining the company's own management resources with the technologies and services of collaborating companies. (According to Hino's research)

Many social issues are emerging, including logistics crises such as driver shortages, reducing CO2 emissions to achieve carbon neutrality, and maintaining sustainable transportation networks in the region. Hino develops and provides CASE technologies and various solutions, and is committed to solving these social issues in collaboration with its partners.

The "HINO ACCELERATOR 2021" program, which will be launched this year, will be a program that will be implemented by companies with outstanding technologies and ideas that will lead to solutions to social issues.To realize smart logistics (2)For a more prosperous mobility society After an initial screening and brush-up, companies will be selected to participate in the Demo Day (demonstration event), where the final selection will take place. At the Demo Day, companies will be selected for collaboration based on their presentations.

By combining the creative technologies and ideas of participating companies with Hino Motors' assets, the project aims to provide new value to society by commercializing solutions that contribute to solving social issues in human flow and logistics.

Support from business mentors and brush-up staff

Hino employees will work with you as brush-up staff to develop your ideas. In addition, experts and business mentors in various fields, such as vehicle operation data, vehicle development, and vehicle mounting (customized for customer applications), will work together to support the applicant companies.
We also provide development environments such as map data APIs (map matching, road elevation, etc.), IBM TWC (historical and current weather data API), IBM CVI (mobility data advanced analysis software DEMO version), and IBM Cloud (free plan).
