Four Calling Themes Leading to a Sustainable World

The Global Sustainability Accelerator is divided into four categories.

Theme 1 [Electricity
The first theme is "electric power.
Improving access to affordable and clean electricity, low-carbonization, and restructuring the electricity distribution system with new solutions is a challenge that is expected to be solved, especially in developing countries where electricity is not available to everyone.

Theme 2 [Water resources and water supply
Challenges surrounding water resources, exacerbated by urban population growth and the effects of climate change, require urgent environmental improvements to ensure a safe water supply and to improve water scarcity.
Therefore, the second theme is "Water Resources and Water Supply," and we are looking for technologies, ideas, and mechanisms to assist communities facing water challenges.

Theme 3 [Food Preservation (Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries)
The third theme is "food preservation.
The challenge of food loss exists in the world while the number of hungry people is increasing. In addition to poverty issues in rural areas, solutions to increase productivity in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries are needed in light of the current situation in developed countries, where approximately one-third of food production is wasted. We will examine mechanisms for predicting demand, improving livelihoods through production management, etc.

Theme 4 [Others Health and medical care / Environmental management / Urban and regional development / Transportation
For sustainable themes other than the aforementioned areas, applications will be accepted under the fourth theme.
For example, the themes include "health care," which addresses health issues such as infectious disease testing, contact tracing, border waterfront measures, and the provision of quality health services to pregnant women and children; "environmental management," which aims to solve environmental pollution and the resulting health problems; and "transportation," which aims to achieve low-carbon, decarbonized, safe, and free movement of goods and services. Keynote Session 1:
Local production and local consumption of energy!
Realizing an Energy-Free Society [Looop Co.

Mr. Soichiro Nakamura, CEO of Looop Corporation, will give a keynote speech.

The most important thing I want startups to do is to "Profitability." It is. If you are not aware of earning well, you will not be able to sustain it. Only by generating revenue can we realize what we want to do. For this reason, it is important for us to have a meaning to our existence.
So how was Looop's per-pass decided?

Looop is an electric power company specializing in renewable energy. We are in the business of building power plants, controlling the electricity generated, and delivering it to customers. As an independent new electric power company, Looop is number one in Japan in both sales and number of customers.

The impetus for founding the company came from volunteering in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. We installed solar power generation systems at evacuation centers free of charge, which was greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, we are greatly inspired by Typhoon Miranda that hit the Philippines.
I thought electricity could be produced for free."
That was our biggest realization from our experience there.
Renewable energy can be found anywhere in the world. In addition, once built, power plants do not require raw materials because they run solely on natural energy. Electricity can be produced and consumed locally by building power plants that fit the size of the land, rather than relying on the power grid.

After deciding on a "Purpose" of "Realization of an Energy-Free Society," the business expanded. We expanded globally, teaming up with NITTETSU Bussan to enter Thailand, and with Sojitz and Osaka Gas to enter Vietnam.

Some things cannot be achieved on our own scale alone,This can be achieved through collaboration with major companies that share the same path.Remember, too, that it is

Keynote Session 2:

We are a startup that aims to be a top player in the sustainability space.
It is also a company that has been aggressively expanding overseas. This is because the company's development of environmentally friendly materials and the manufacture and sale of products, as well as its business of promoting resource recycling, have been recognized as facilitating global expansion.

In Silicon Valley in 2016, we won an award in the materials category of an accelerator program run by Plug and Play. At the same time, we were also stimulated by an invitation from NASDAQ to go public.
By expanding into foreign markets, more financing can be implemented.Having a business that can expand globally is an advantage for startupsI feel that it is a good response.

LIMEX, a new limestone-based material developed using proprietary technology, has been introduced in more than 1,000 companies and municipalities in Japan (including registered offices).

By using limestone as a raw material, the use of petroleum-derived resins can be reduced, resulting in a reduction in the production of greenhouse gases, including CO2. Limestone is also a mineral resource that is abundant throughout the world and can contribute to climate change. It enables 100% self-sufficiency even in Japan, which is said to be resource-poor.

According to one study, the market for resource recycling business is expected to reach about 600 trillion yen by 2030.

TBM has also launched a resource recycling business to build a recyclable platform by collecting and recycling materials after use, in addition to the development and manufacturing business of "LIMEX".
Facing Environmental ChallengesCommitted to new business pillars with potential for global expansion in anticipation of global trendsWe continue to work on the
