Background of Release
Currently in Japan, the inspection and reporting rate of legally required building facility inspections (fire fighting equipment, building equipment, fire prevention equipment, air conditioning equipment, etc.) is extremely low, which is a social issue.
For example, the reporting rate for fire equipment inspections is approximately 501 TP3T, and for periodic inspections of fire protection equipment, the figure is as low as approximately 271 TP3T (*Reference: recent trends related to building administration, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism).

Sumaten operates Sumaten BASE, a cloud management service for building code inspections,
The industry has been reformed by promoting the improvement of operations through web-based management, paperless management, and other electronic means.
By collaborating with "Facility Management Mikata," which KEPCO has begun offering, the company hopes to expand its reach to managers and provide an opportunity to encourage the implementation of legal inspections.
About Facility Management Micata

The "Facility Management Miqata" was developed based on customers' requests to "manage their own facilities and equipment efficiently and appropriately, without spending a lot of time and effort. Four functions, "Ledger Free," "Inspection Calendar," "Repair History Management," and "Contractor Search," are used to solve problems.
With the vision of "creating a world where no one fails to perform code inspections," the company operates a code inspection platform business for building facilities. It has developed and operates "Sumaten BASE," a cloud management service for building code inspections, and "Sumaten UP," a fire equipment inspection application, and is currently (as of November 2021) providing nationwide code inspection implementation and management for approximately 4,500 buildings.
The company offers nationwide support from facility inspections to renovation work and ongoing cloud management, and its specialized departments provide a full range of support services, which is why an increasing number of companies of all sizes are using the company's services.
Comment from Kansai Electric Power Co.
The "Facility Management Micata" service (hereafter referred to as "this service") is a business support service that was developed based on customer feedback received in the course of KEPCO's daily sales activities. We believe that this service will contribute to the efficiency of management operations, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises that have a lot of work to do with a limited number of staff. In addition, by collaborating with Sumaten Corporation, which provides legal inspection and management services for buildings and facilities, we are working to improve the attractiveness and functionality of this service by leveraging the strengths of both companies. Through this service, we hope to contribute to the reduction of your management costs and to improve the implementation rate of the legal inspections, which have become a social issue.

Comment from a Sumaten representative
We are pleased that with the start of this collaboration, more building managers will be able to offer complex management and apt cost offerings. In addition, the results that can be achieved by having a large company and a startup working in the same direction are extremely valuable.
Although "Facility Management Micata" is broadly in the same area, it is a product with different characteristics, and we believe that we can work together to pick up and solve users' day-to-day building-related problems.
