For Startups, provider of "STARTUP DB," begins joint research with Tokyo Metropolitan University.

For Startups, which promotes growth industry support projects, will provide the STARTUP DB to the Asahi Laboratory of the Department of Urban Policy Science, Faculty of Urban Environment, Tokyo Metropolitan University, for their research on "regional and policy factors that promote the concentration and business diversification of startup companies" and begin joint research in October 2021. The research will begin in October 2021.

Based on an analysis of data on the attributes, business development, and location of startup firms, this study aims to determine the impact of policies to attract and support startup firms, such as incubation, and urban development policies that shape urban amenities on the concentration and diversification of startups and their spillover effects on local industries. Provided data from the STARTUP DB (Startup Database) to this research and initiated a joint research project. The goal is to contribute to the revitalization of the startup ecosystem by utilizing the analysis results obtained from this research.

It is one of Japan's largest information platforms specializing in the growth industry domain. The corporate database holds information on more than 13,000 Japanese venture and startup companies, and has released interview content with a cumulative total of more than 150 entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem builders. 24 June 2019, the English version of the database was released. In addition, the company contributes to the development of the domestic growth industry domain market by linking its data with Crunchbase, one of the world's largest venture company databases, to deliver information on Japanese companies to professionals overseas.
