ENEOS Holdings aims to create innovative businesses under the theme of "Sustainable Mobility Infrastructure". Luup, on the other hand, aims to create a new short-distance mobility infrastructure in Japan through its micromobility sharing business.1 In the ENEOS Holdings (then JXTG Holdings) Accelerator Program*1 held in FY2019, Luup's business proposal for electric kickboards and other electric micromobility sharing projects, the two companies have been considering collaboration since Luup's business proposal was selected.
In the future, the super-aging society is expected to face issues such as shopping refugees and automobile accidents among the elderly due to inadequate one-mile transportation, and electric micromobility*2 is attracting attention as a vehicle that can solve these problems. The collaboration aims to establish a sharing and optimal energy supply system for electric micromobility by 2023, and to realize a society in which everyone can move freely.
The two companies also plan to collaborate on regulatory compliance, which is a challenge for the spread of electric micromobility in Japan, through this collaboration.
Both companies intend to contribute to the development of society and the creation of a vibrant future by creating services demanded by customers and society.
