SOFTBANK Robotics Launches Sales of CHEFFY, an Automated Cooking Robot! Famous Restaurants Participate in Menu Development

SoftBank Robotics will start selling CHEFFY, an automatic cooking robot that serves ramen supervised by famous restaurants, to offices, lodging facilities, commercial facilities, and restaurants in Japan on September 7!

Robot that can cook automatically in as fast as 90 seconds

CHEFFY is a robot that can automatically cook fresh, hot ramen in as fast as 90 seconds, something no other automated cooking solution can achieve. This characteristic makes it possible to serve ramen from famous Japanese restaurants that are highly acclaimed around the world to accommodations, commercial facilities, restaurants, offices, etc. throughout Japan*1.
The "special bowl" was developed with the full cooperation of Gourmet Innovation Corporation (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Takuma Inoue, President), which operates the ramen ordering site "Takumen.com," with the participation of Japan's leading and famous ramen restaurants. The "special cup" was developed with the full cooperation of Gourmet Innovations Co.

In conjunction with the launch of CHEFFY in Japan, GURUNAVI FOODHALL WYE, operated by Gurunavi Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Akiro Sugihara), will begin operating CHEFFY today at Tenkubashi.

GURUNAVI FOODHALL WYE offers local cuisine from all over the country under the concept of "a place where you can find new 'deliciousness' in local food. With the introduction of "CHEFFY," GURUNAVI FOODHALL WYE is now able to offer a new lineup of ramen dishes supervised by famous restaurants. We expect a wide range of customers, including not only Japanese customers but also foreign tourists visiting Japan, to use this one-stop store to enjoy the tastes of multiple restaurants.

In addition, we have begun operating Pepper PARLOR (Tokyu Plaza Shibuya), a casual dining restaurant operated by our company where people and robots work together, and we plan to introduce Pepper in other places such as restaurants and lodging facilities.

CHEFFY will be exhibited at the Ramen Industry Exhibition to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 13 to 14, 2023 so that many people can experience CHEFFY. At the booth, visitors will be able to see the actual machine and eat ramen.

SOFTBANK Robotics' Food Tech Initiatives

In addition to "CHEFFY," which allows customers to taste freshly prepared ramen on the spot, SOFTBANK Robotics will collaborate with "takumen.com," a ramen ordering site that allows customers to enjoy the taste of popular ramen stores nationwide, to deliver ramen from approximately 300 stores nationwide through physical stores, frozen vending machines and EC sites. In addition to CHEFFY, we will promote the business of delivering ramen from approximately 300 shops nationwide to all over Japan through physical stores, frozen vending machines, and EC sites.

In mid-September 2023, several kinds of "takumen.com" products will be available for sale at Pepper PARLOR (Tokyu Plaza Shibuya) operated by SoftBank Robotics so that people can more easily experience "takumen.com" ramen.


SoftBank Robotics is also the technology partner of Yo-Kai Express Inc. (HQ: California, USA; Founder & CEO: Andy Lin), a Silicon Valley-based food tech venture, in its Japan business. Yo-Kai Express is a technology partner of Yo-Kai Express' Japanese operations and will support the food and beverage industry, which is facing a serious labor shortage, through the sale of Yo-Kai Express' technology-based food-tech solutions.
