As the first step, we started selling products in Singapore in May, aiming to expand our business in Southeast Asia, mainly in Singapore.
Special freezing technology enables overseas expansion of food products that have been difficult to export
Until now, it has been difficult to sell products frozen or provide the same quality as in Japan overseas due to the long-term preservation of products, including the transportation period, and from the perspective of maintaining the quality of the products themselves.
To solve these problems, Daybreak has been developing frozen products that do not destroy the cells of food ingredients as much as possible and do not spoil their original flavor, using its own special freezing technology and research data.
Through this business alliance with WeAgri, we will support the overseas expansion of eight manufacturers that handle foods that are popular overseas but difficult to export frozen, such as broiled eel and inarizushi.
We aim to further expand sales channels for domestic food manufacturers and seek a foothold for Japanese "food" to expand globally.

Singapore's Frozen Food Market Growing Rapidly Since Corona Disaster
Frozen food demand has increased globally due to the Corona disaster, and especially in Singapore, the "Ready to Eat" market, including frozen food, is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 2.61 TP3T in the future(*).
High-quality Japanese frozen foods are popular and attracting attention in Singapore, and the development will be a combination of WeAgri's local marketing capabilities and Daybreak's specialized freezing solutions.

About "Art Lock Freezer," a special freezer
The "Art Lock Freezer" is a special freezer developed by Daybreak based on nine years of research on food ingredients and customer feedback. 350 orders were received within 18 months of its launch in October 2021, and in August 2022, it won the "26th In August 2022, it received the "26th Hit Award for Processed Foods for Commercial Use/Contribution to the Food Service Industry" (sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) sponsored by the Japan Food Journal, and is supported by many food businesses.
What is special refrigeration?
This technology achieves even higher quality freezing by following a special technique for each freezing medium in quick freezing. In the case of general freezing, cells are damaged when ice crystals become large and distorted as they pass through the temperature range at which intracellular water turns to ice (ice crystal formation temperature range: 0°C to -5°C). In quick freezing, on the other hand, ice crystals are formed smaller by rapid and uniform cooling, minimizing cell damage and preventing the loss of umami ingredients. In addition, special freezing technology, such as the humidity of the cold air and the way the cold air is applied, enables shape maintenance and quick freezing of warm food that has already been cooked. This enables quick freezing of foodstuffs, which was previously considered difficult, and produces frozen foodstuffs of higher quality than ever before.
With the mission of "Find More Japan - Accelerating the Rediscovery of Japan", we discover attractive Japanese products that are still unknown to the world and support marketing activities such as branding that matches the lifestyles and values of Singapore and other Asian countries.
Leveraging the knowledge of branding and marketing of Japanese agricultural and marine products and processed foods, knowledge of local needs, and distribution network accumulated since the company's establishment, we have developed a unique distribution platform that combines IT and the latest distribution technology. By combining the Techfirm Group's cutting-edge technology and knowledge of DX support in various industries, we aim to innovate cross-border distribution connecting Asia and Japan.
The "Connect Asia" overseas sales channel development support service has been providing support to local businesses in cooperation with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), local governments, and economic organizations. Since last September, we have also been working with regional banks to provide comprehensive support for food and beauty product businesses, from marketing activities such as branding and promotion for export to local sales and logistics.
