Started joint study of business concepts for the development of sustainable finance! Promoting further acceleration of ESG investment

サステナブルファイナンスの発展に向けた事業の構想を共同検討

MS&ADインシュアランス グループ ホールディングス株式会社(あいおいニッセイ同和損害保険株式会社、三井住友海上火災保険株式会社)、損害保険ジャパン株式会社、東京海上日動火災保険株式会社、日本生命保険相互会社、株式会社日立製作所、株式会社みずほ銀行、株式会社三井住友銀行、株式会社三菱UFJ銀行は、このたび、サステナブルファイナンスの発展に向けた事業構想の共同検討に関する覚書を締結しました。

運用機関とその投資先である上場企業をシームレスにつなぎ、ESGに関する相互理解・情報開示などを促進するデジタルプラットフォーム「サステナブルファイナンスプラットフォーム(仮称)」を構築し有用性の検証を開始します。

今後、幅広く利用企業を募っていき、2023年秋にはプラットフォームのベータ版サービスを提供し、ユーザビリティの検証や各種機能の強化をはかるなど、将来の正式なサービス立ち上げに向けた検討を、共同で推進していく予定です。

これらESGデータの円滑な流通を支援するインフラの整備により、国内外の機関投資家や発行体などさまざまなステークホルダーの効果的・効率的なコミュニケーションを促進し、ESG投資やESGマーケットをさらに拡大することで、持続可能な社会の発展に貢献していきます。

Background of Collaboration

近年、環境(Environment)・社会(Social)・ガバナンス(Governance)への関心の高まりを背景にESG投資は急拡大しており、2020年における世界のESG投資額は約35.3兆ドル(約3,900兆円)*に上っています。国内外の企業におけるESGに関する取り組みが活発となる一方、投資の判断において重要となるESGに関する非財務情報の開示に関して、グローバルでの開示ルールや評価手法に関する公的基準が、未だ共通的には整備されていないのが実情です。

上場企業はさまざまな開示方法や項目に対応するため膨大な工数を要しているほか、運用機関は上場企業によって開示データが異なるため、情報収集や企業間での比較評価が困難となっています。

今回、運用機関と上場企業の間のESG情報開示に関する相互理解を深めるサービスの提供により、効果的・効率的な情報開示と運用機関の投資判断を促進します。これにより、高まるESG投資やESGマーケットの後押しをはかり、健全な市場の発展に貢献していきます。

ベータ版サービスについて

運用機関と上場企業をつなぎ、ESG投資を促進するデジタルプラットフォーム「サステナブルファイナンスプラットフォーム(仮称)」の本格サービス化に向けて、ベータ版サービスを、複数の運用機関と上場企業において利用し、有用性の検証を行います。

ベータ版サービスでは、上場企業が各運用機関で重視するESG情報の開示項目やその背景などを直接かつ統合的に確認することができるサービスを提供予定です。これにより、上場企業は、運用機関が重視する項目をあらかじめ把握できるため、ESG情報開示に向けた企業内での方針決定を効果的・効率的に進めることが可能になります。また、運用機関に対しては、中長期的な投資リターンの拡大に向け、上場企業との対話といったスチュワードシップ活動をさらに促進するサービスも提供していきます。

なお、すでに複数の運用機関と、ベータ版サービスの利用や、実証への参加を調整しています。実証は、2023年秋からの開始を予定しており、今後、さらに運用機関および上場企業の募集を進めていきます。

About the future

今後、2023年夏を目途に、ESG投資を促進するデジタルプラットフォームのベータ版サービスの提供に向け、共同で一般社団法人を設立する予定です。設立法人において、プラットフォームの有用性を検証し、正式なサービス化に向けた共同検討を推進します。

持続可能な社会の実現に向けて、運用機関と上場企業におけるESG情報開示に関する課題の解決を契機に、融資や損害保険などサステナブルファイナンスに関連するさまざまなステークホルダーをつなぎ、エンゲージメントの向上に寄与するソリューションの提供に、継続的に取り組んでいきます。
