Sophia Start-up Awards "YOTSUYA HATCH," the first start-up pitch in Sophia University's history

This event is the university's first startup pitch event in the form of an awards ceremony where Sophia University leaders who are contributing to society from various perspectives can gather and introduce their activities to each other and celebrate each other. Contestants will have 5 minutes to pitch their businesses, business ideas, and activities, which will be evaluated by a panel of judges consisting of VCs, professors, and entrepreneurs, and the winners will be awarded prizes and cash prizes.
In addition to pitches by contestants, there will also be a long-term intern matching event and a social event, so anyone can easily participate!
If you are interested in entrepreneurship and would like to visit Sophia University to see its leaders, you are welcome to do so!
About the project name
Sophia Start-up Awards "YOTSUYA HATCH
The name "Hatch" implies that we will create a place in "Yotsuya" where people who are active in various fields can gather and "Sophia students with entrepreneurial potential = golden eggs" will be hatched by the power of this project, "Hatch". We are planning to hold the next and subsequent events at universities.
Background of the project
Although Sophia University has many entrepreneurs and other leaders who are taking the initiative and contributing to society, there are not enough opportunities for these people to be noticed on campus, and students do not have the opportunity to learn about their activities, which makes it difficult to create students who will follow in their footsteps. In light of these issues, the first event of this series will focus on "people" rather than "business" in spite of being a start-up pitch event.
Therefore, with regard to screening, the emphasis is not on evaluating the investment value of the companies they manage, but rather on whether they contribute to solving the problems of others with entrepreneurship and are a goal for other students.
Sophia Start-up Club hopes to create a trend of more leaders who can contribute to society from Sophia University, a private university in Japan, through the continuous hosting of this project.
In the future, we aim to create an environment that will serve as a foundation for more start-up companies to emerge from Sophia University that will change society.
